Service Awards

Tutors and volunteers with 10 years and more service to U3A Hawthorn were recognised in an event on Sunday 15 March 2015.

Tutor Nan Inglis receives her award from Assoc. Prof. Chris Fluke and Mayor Coral Ross
Mayor Coral Ross was on hand to present certificates, whilst Assoc. Prof. Chris Fluke, Swinburne University, presented a U3A mug to each of the
recipients.
In total some 60 members were listed as having either been Tutors for that length of time or as having volunteered in one or more capacities for 10 years or more.
Chris was also the guest speaker and provided a fascinating insight into the world of astronomy - targetting his presentation to the theme of 30 years of celebration in recognition of this being U3A Hawthorn's 30th year of operation. His evident pashion for his subject and the wonderful graphic material he presented certainly captured the audience's attention and generated considerable discussion.
